This Demo Model, 54cm, Schlick Cycles SuperFast is available at Everyday Cycles Riverwest Showroom in Milwaukee!
We built this SuperFast in about 2010 long before the recent disc road bikes started appearing. Plus, we built this one with an eccentric bottom bracket to allow for chain tension adjustment to accommodate a Shimano Alfine 8-speed Internally Geared Hub (IGH)! The idea was to build the ultimate commuter bike and the SuperFast lives up to the billing.
The red powder-coated 54cm frame is a Tom Teesdale built from TrueTemper Verus HT steel. The geometry is taken from Tom’s tried-and-true Allroad designs and can fit up to 35mm tires for sure. Depending on the tire you could probably even go 38mm. If you wanted to run fenders you could do up to 32mm.
Currently the SuperFast is sporting Fyxation Session 700 x 28 tires, which I find to be excellent urban assault tires, on Alex 28 rims laced up with black double-butted spokes. The rear hub is the Alfine 8-speed SG-501 while the front hub is an Alfine Dyno to power a 6v light system.
